Doctor Email
1) For urgent medical questions, call the office (212.741.2229) 24 hours a day.
2) We happily welcome non-urgent email questions or comments from our patients on any topic at any hour. If you don't receive a reply within 24 hours, please resend your email. Please always use the email address docs@villageob.com.
3) Please DO NOT use our individual email addresses any longer. This change will help both doctors stay fully informed.
Prenatal Vitamins
We suggest a daily prenatal vitamin, a daily DHA supplement, and 500 mg of calcium twice a day. Some patient favorites: Rainbow Light Prenatal One Multivitamin, Expecta DHA supplement, and Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA. For extra calcium try either Tums or Aldora Calcium - dark or milk chocolate. If you can't swallow pills try Centrum Chewables and Nordic Naturals Children'S Dha/Strawberry. If you prefer a prescription prenatal vitamin email us your pharmacy number and date of birth and we will call one in. These products are easily available online at www.drugstore.com, www.vitaminshoppe.com, www.cvs.com, www.expectalipil.com or at many local pharmacies.
Disability Paperwork
The following is our procedure for disability papers. Please help us with this process. We want to be sure you get paid!
1) Speak with your employer's HR department around 20 weeks of pregnancy. Ask for a copy of whatever paperwork is required so you can take pregnancy leave. PLEASE DO NOT FAX THESE PAPERS TO OUR OFFICE. We ask instead that you fill our all your sections and give these forms to Leanne with a self addressed envelope at your next visit.
2) After your baby's birth we will mail the forms to you and ask that you to personally return them to your employer. This is a very important step and will ensure that you are paid.
3) If your employer needs information before delivery we prefer to send a letter with your estimated due date and return the forms to you after delivery with your actual delivery date.
4) If you have any questions about this process please speak with Leanne.
Fetal Movement Monitoring
Starting at 28 weeks we suggest that you check daily for fetal movements. Divide the day in 3 parts (morning/afternoon/evening). In each part you should feel 4 distinct fetal movements. If you don't, have something to eat and try again. If you still don't, call us. Almost certainly everything is fine but we will suggest that you go to labor for monitoring and a sonogram.
